7 Maths 2026 Rubrics
Rationale
For each unit there are:
- achievement standard rubric criterions,
- content descriptor rubrics (for my sanity check before making proficiency ones)
- Proficiency categorised rubrics using the specific flavour of content descriptors I chose for that year’s assessment to make it usable for my procrastinating mind and to take advantage of the senior assessment based ones given by the QCAA.
FYI: I mark assessment using the content descriptor specific proficiency rubrics instead of mark percentages sorted by proficiency because:
- someone once told me marks/points in exams aren’t appropriate for junior secondary mathematics anymore
- qualitative/mastery based marking is better for checking alignment to specific skills I require students to demonstrate
- Students can read them
I am also of the opinion that a B or an A should be clearly above a C standard with graded so without a doubt.
